keywords:A light novel (ライトノベル raito noberu) is a style of Japanese novel primarily targeting middle and high school students (young adult demographic). "Light novel" is a wasei-eigo, or a Japanese term formed from words in the English language. Such short, light novels are often called ranobe (ラノベ) or LN in the West. They are typically not more than 40,000–50,000 words long (the shorter ones being equivalent to a novella in US publishing terms), rarely exceed 200 pages, often have dense publishing schedules, are usually published in bunkobon size, and are often illustrated. The text is often serialized in anthology magazines before collection in book form.

Light Novels are probably most distinguished by people for their most obvious aspect, the illustrations. Almost every light novel will always have an anime style illustration for its cover. And while most choose to also have 5-10 extra illustrations placed within the book, (some color, with the majority being black and white), some light novels on occasion choose not to.keywords:
Light Novels are also known for another aspect, their writing style. This is both the subject of praise and criticism from its readers. Light Novels are driven many times primarily through dialogue, allowing the story to flow quickly, interestingly, and enabling the reader to read through the pages at a bit faster rate. However, when doing this, on average, it is not stated who is speaking, and thus, it is up to the reader to actively keep in mind the person speaking, since there is no indication given for who it is except when the conversation started. This is both liked and disliked by fans of Light Novels and non fans alike.
Another aspect of Light Novel writing style is that paragraphs can range from 4 sentences, to at times, one. Sound effects are also at times given an entire line to magnify effect. This creates a unique reading experience different from the normal accepted writing practices of published fiction. This again is enjoyed by many, and disliked equally by others.

Nah, hal-hal itulah yang bikin penasaran sama 'light novel' terutama yang terbit di Jepang. Terutama karyanya Kaminaga Manabu karena aku terkesan sama manga-nya walaupun Kaminaga Manabu adalah the author, not the illustrator, but the illustration in the manga is also good. It's because of the story that I want to read the light novel version. Hehehee...
